I was not the girly girl who loved all things pink growing up, but lately I find myself more and more drawn to the color.  In the right shade, I think it adds a playful calmness to a room.

I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend!  I've mentioned it before here, but Memorial Day has a special place in my heart.  I have so much gratitude for the sacrifices made for our country.

On a lighter note, today I want to share with you my favorite jewelry storage/displays for on or over the dresser (for those of us who do not have a vintage vanity or armoire).  In our last home, my jewelry hung on small tie racks near my dresser, and while it was fine- it was too cluttered and not styled to my taste.  I've had a difficult time finding jewelry organization that seems fresh and original.  Ends up, it's also difficult to find jewelry organization inspiration that is more minimal.  

1.  I love this first one because it is styled so beautifully.  Though it's less minimal than the others, I think I can handle it.  

Whether you realize it or not, you've probably seen it....in magazines or on pinterest.  Since moving into our home I have felt the need for some greenery, and I have had my eye on the fiddle leaf fig tree.  If you think any of these photos look familiar (aside from pinterest), I probably have featured them on here at some point because they are some of my favorites ( The Marion House Book, Bri Emery of Design Love Fest, and Lonny Magazine).  Happy Friday!

Sorry for my irregular posting, but as mentioned earlier- we have been busy over here.  Since Red had officially started his job before we moved into the house, we have had to take full advantage of nights and weekends to work on our home.  This means painting until midnight after a full day of unpacking/organizing.....and unfortunately the entire house needs painting.  After finishing the last coat of paint for the (once red) dining room last night, we agreed to save the painting for the weekends.  We have been burning the candle at both ends with R waking early, and we are just too exhausted to keep this going much longer.

Let's start here.  I really love this rattan Serena and Lily chair.  The Parisian bistro style totally gets me, the only thing is the price and the fear that I would get sick of the color after a little bit.

These thonet style ones are probably my favorite.  The Scandinavian design lover in me is drawn to the soothing neutrals.

Maybe you've noticed the trend, but I love the mixture of the rattan styled with a tulip table.   The modern lines of the table balances these more traditional chairs. 

When I came across this home featured over on The Style Files I had to re-post.  It's not every day that I come across a home that integrates the color purple in such a beautiful way.  I think it's the perfect amount of color to still maintain the calm/peaceful vibe that I love so much.

Hey there!  I unintentionally took a week off.....upon moving into our new place we discovered that we could not get Internet for a week and a half.  It was probably a good thing, as I had (and still have) a ton of work ahead of me in terms of unpacking and getting settled.  As I mentioned in my last post, I have been finding all sorts of treasures via our (new) local craigslist.  One of those treasures is a set of vintage lockers I  got for dirt cheap.  Originally, I had wanted some cool vintage barrister bookcases for Red's office, but they were way out of our price range.  The thing I'm loving about the lockers is how versatile they are....a few years down the road, I could see us using them as part of our entryway or even in a little boy's room (not pregnant.... but we would love to have a little boy some day).  At this stage in our life, we need to buy things that can work in multiple spaces.  Here are some of my favorite vintage locker inspirations, the first one being my dream piece.
