Catching Up

I hope you guys had a wonderful weekend! I was finally able to catch up on Secrets of a Stylist....between the lack of internet in our hotel and the move it has taken me some time. So I realize you all might have seen this, but I just have to say something about this awesome DIY chandelier featured on the show. Wow. If you're interested in trying your own hand at this, you can find the tutorial here.

It reminds me of the chandelier from the below favorite Domino interior.

The Debate

You guys know what I'm talking about......it seems like every guy is drawn to huge, puffy, not-so-chic recliners. It's practical, comfortable, and that's about it. I remember when Red and all my friend's husbands got back from their deployment.......they all wanted a recliner to watch football. It was like they had all been discussing it for the past year. How can you say no to that? Thankfully I was able to avoid the plunge, but realizing I couldn't forever I have been on the lookout ever since. Being the mid-century furniture lover that I am, I'm drawn to this vintage piece. At first glance it's all masculine, but I think it could be helped with some feminine touches. Meet the Milo Baughman reclining lounge chair. Though I'm still not sold on the idea of a recliner, this chair almost has me going to "the other side".

The Eclectic Gallery Wall

Though I would hardly describe my design aesthetic as eclectic, there is something about an eclectic gallery wall that I love. Simply put, it's interesting. I've had a gallery wall in each home thus far, but my largest frame was broken during this move (among other things). Normally it wouldn't be such a big deal, but it was one of the main pieces of the gallery wall. I've been wanting to add in artwork and different frame finishes to my gallery wall, this seems like the perfect excuse.

It's Here!

I know everyone's talking about it, but for those of you who are not already convinced that you need to get your own copy I'm here to say that it really is all that great. There are so many beautiful inspirations, before and after pictures, DIY projects, and lessons on flower arranging. The past few days I've been unpacking by day and devouring this beautiful book by night.

Scandinavia

My next few days are filled with unpacking, breaking down boxes, and making our new place live-able. Not super "blog worthy". So, I thought I would send some Scandinavian inspiration your way instead. Red is Norwegian, and very proud of his Scandinavian heritage. How lucky for him, that I love Scandinavian design:). Really though, I love the cleanness of it. All the white with pops of color, it's so inviting!
